Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam has criticised batsman Mohammad Yousuf's decision to defect to the unofficial Indian Cricket League.
Yousuf, a veteran of 79 Tests and 269 One Day Internationals was picked for Pakistan's One Day International series against the West Indies before the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was informed of his decision to play for the Lahore Badshahs in India.
"Yousuf has been the backbone of the middle order batting but since he is no longer eligible to play for Pakistan, we must look ahead and groom a replacement," Alam said.
"Yousuf's decision is not only ill-timed but unfortunate as well. I am positive we can overcome his loss as we have the talent to find a suitable replacement in time," he added.
The PCB has also threatened to file a legal case against Yousuf if he does not return money invested in him to prevent him joining the ICL last year.
